A drying sea half a world away carries a message for those worried about the Great Salt Lake

Israel has grappled with crippling drought for years. But people have learned to use Mediterranean sea water and recycled wastewater to provide the country with enough water for all its needs.

Officials in Niger are addressing chronic severe droughts causing food shortages and leading to a widespread threat of starvation.
