Scientists measured the impact of a solar plant built in California and found that while some grasses and native shrubs grew back, cacti and yucca didn’t fare well.     A privately funded gun-buyback program is one of three core elements of the city of Flint's violence-reduction plan, but research has shown that such programs fail to make a dent in violent crime because the guns they take out of circulation were not destined to be used to commit crimes in the first place.     As part of a collaboration between Zion National Park and the nearby town of Springdale, shuttle buses were introduced to limit the amount of noise in the canyon and deal with issues of over parking.
